How Wound-Be-Gone® Works?

WOUND-BE-GONE® IS A TOPICAL POLYMER BASED GEL WITH A POWERFUL PATENTED ACTIVE AGENT.

Wound-Be-Gone® forms a thin, elastic layer over the wound and creates an ideal environment for wound healing. The patented active ingredient in Wound-Be-Gone® binds and neutralizes Oxygen Free Radicals, also known as Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS). Excessive amounts of Oxygen Free Radicals can slow down or completely stop the healing process.

Oxygen Free Radicals and their impact on wound healing

Oxygen Free Radicals, also known as Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) are generated when the body is injured. Oxygen Free Radicals are unstable molecules with an unpaired electron. These molecules are highly reactive, attacking the closest stable molecules and stealing their electrons, thereby creating new unstable molecules (ROS). If unchecked, this chain reaction can lead to destruction of living cells and can significantly slow down or stop the healing process.

Studies have shown an association between the presence of Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) and characteristics of wound chronicity: including delayed healing, reduced granulation and epithelialization, and persistent wound inflammation. Compromised wound healing can result in other complications and problems, such as infection, pain and development of chronic (non-healing) wounds.

Wound-Be-Gone® doesn't contain any antibiotics or materials of biological origin and is hypoallergenic (has a very low allergic profile)

Easy Application.

  • Clean the wound using mild soap and water. Use normal saline for full thickness wounds or ulcers.
  • Apply a thin layer of Wound-Be-Gone® to the entire affected area.
  • Cover the wound with a non-adhesive bandage.
  • Reapply as necessary every 12-24 hours.

  • In the event the wound or affected area is very sensitive (painful), apply thin layer of Wound-Be-Gone® directly on the dressing surface and then apply against affected area.

  • Do not debride the healing wound between applications. Gently wash the wound with water and pat it dry. (Any debridement might cause a disruption of newly formed healthy tissue and slow down the healing process).

  • Some debridement might be needed prior to application of Wound-Be-Gone® to remove necrotic tissue if present. Please contact you physician to do so.

  • Infection, if present, should be treated prior to application of Wound-Be-Gone®.
